March Madness comes to a conclusion this evening, Sox have won two games; Cubs have even won one! Spring has most definitely arrived.  This means two things for the Chamber: like the Masters, our First Swing! Annual Golf Classic is around the corner and we’re selling advertising in the Downers Grove Book and Business Directory!  

We’re jamming in everything great about golf into the First Swing!  Ruffled Feathers guarantees May 12^th will be beautiful day to take those sticks out of hibernation and loosen up for the rest of the season.  Reconnect with old friends, colleagues and clients for a casual lunch, putting challenge, a fun-filled match on a beautiful course and a Chicago style dinner.  Back by popular demand are the combo sponsorship and foursome packages – discounted pricing for First and Last Swings (to be held August 17^th).  To make the day as pleasant as possible you’ll be able to purchase a Super Ticket ensuring your foursome is included on every contest.  Only exception to this is the Beer-A-Mid and Wine on Nine – only 52 chances to win enough beer or wine to have an all-town party!  It’ll be an afternoon well-spent with those who never fail to increase your business. Of course we’re changing up the annual directory, it’s bigger, better and has a broader audience.  We’ll be circulating to all the businesses as well as homeowners in Downers Grove via US mail.  The Downers Grove Book and Business Directory is your way to make a lasting impression on your customer!  Coming out in July, 2011, your ad will also be replicated online via the Downers Grove Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry website and the Daily Herald’s Downers Grove home page, further extending the exposure of your advertising message and increasing your search engine optimization. Every new resident will also receive a copy.  Therefore, in addition to the free listings by company name and business category, I invite you to promote your business by placing an ad in the 2011-2012 Downers Grove Book & Business Directory.

Other don’t miss events: Vote tomorrow!  Open House, April 8^th, a full day of business connecting; the very same evening, the District 58 Education Foundation is hosting Second City at the Tivoli – it’s for the kids, Game Pazzo will be hosting an event for Prostate Cancer Awareness on Thursday, April 7^th, the Chamber luncheon on April 13^th featuring Changes in Choose DuPage, sponsored by Little Friends, presentation by soon to be president, Greg Bedalov.  I’ll see you there.
